Too little, too late

I started this blog with the intentions of keeping up with it.  I started it to prove to both my sisters that my blog would be in fact better than theirs.  Oops.  When I started this blog it was the summer.  I was young and fancy free, now work and school take up some time, and when I'm not doing those things I am sleeping or latch hooking.  I know it doesn't sound like it could possibly be that complicated to keep up with all of these things, but it is.  I have trouble finding time just to cook anymore, but a new dawn is rising.  I just finished two grad school classes and can see the light at the end of the tunnel.  I have student teaching (which I do in the class in which I am assigned now) and then one online class and that's it.  I've got my masters.  (Next blog my masters is better than your masters, a competition I should win only because my sisters don't have masters...yet)  I also realized if Bean has time to update her blog, I should find a moment or two to do the same.

Quick update:
Semester started and finished, Science class abandoned and Resource room began, Pets are good, Jefferson has started pooping in the toilet (I am soooooo not kidding), Thanksgiving came and went and I was thankful it was very quiet, New nephew (adorable), Countdown to LA/Xmas/Baby/San Diego/Banana Bungalow/Beach in December.  Other than that all is well.

R Club in Pictures

It was a scary night last friday when Greg, Chels, and I ventured to the R club.  It was very late, it was very dirty, and I feel gross for having done it, but I accomplished my goal.  I stayed up late enough and got a chance to see it with my own eyes.  And now you can see it with your eyes.  Don't be scared.  It'll all be OK.  Look at it.

Promised Post

I am going to post all about my vacation, however I am still like a little internet dumb so I am trying to figure out 1. How to insert a link to my flickr photos and 2. How to do a hyperlink to the places that I went.  If you can help me with either of those things these posts will be forthcoming.  Thanks.

Vacationland

Tomorrow starts my official vacation, however for the last couple of days I was sunning myself in sunny Cape May, NJ.  The town is adorable.  The beach days were mostly good.  Chels, Sara G, and I were there for Sunday, it was really windy it rained, but we still found a little bit of time to hit the beach in the afternoon (it was so windy the sand was blowing that's my least favorite thing) I did swim for a hot minute but the surf was pummeling me so I got out pretty quick.  That night we had dinner with Patty and started a 1,000 piece Troll Mania puzzle.  Sara thought it was too ambitious, but Chels and I had faith that we could finish it.  The next day we took Sara to the bus in Atlantic City, and then spent the rest of the afternoon at the beach.  Maloy even got to join us for the evening.  We rode bikes worked on Troll Mania.  We even hit Carney's a jersey shore bar.  You can just imagine, but the drinks were cheap the DJ was playing really bad music and there was really bad dancing.  What else do you need?  Finished off the night by watching Liar, Liar until we all fell asleep.  Day 3 hit the beach again.  This was the most gorgeous day we had.  I finished my book The Last Summer (of You and Me) by Ann Brashares, her first adult novel.  It was a good beach read.  Then we went home and finished TROLL MANIA.  All 1000 pieces.  It was very satisfying.  Right now I am putting off packing and getting everything together that I need for VT and ME.  Oh and big news.  Maloy's sister is having her baby today.  A few weeks early but her water broke this AM and her new niece is on the way.  So today is going to be a great day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS. I will post pictures of Troll Mania once I get them downloaded.  It's a walk down memory lane.  It's like the Wackness-Trolls from 1994

26 and loving it?

I've been 26 for one day.  In that day I have read Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2.  I've gone bowling with Emma, Bean, and Lucien.  I won bowling twice.  I attempted to see Sisterhood 2, but every 12 year old had the same idea.  Not that I'm 12.  I'm 26.  Weird.  Bea got her collar off today.  We will see if it lasts.  Yesterday I altered a shirt for chels, and used the sleeves to make dog toys for Bea and Roscoe.  I ate the most delicious dinner, and went to bed early.  Is that what you are supposed to do on your birthday?  My life has become boring, but in one week I go on vacation.  A real vacation, with hotel rooms and an itinerary.  I've never done that before.  I've never tried to be an adult.  I'll let you know how it works out.  I'm probably too young to be a REAL adult.  I'll let you know.

Its been a while...

Ok.  I apologize to all my faithful blog readers that I have not updated in a while.  I wanted to, but I have been busy.  Vacations and school take up a lot of my time.

A rundown of my vacations:

Camp Tockwogh- not really a vacation, but a volunteer weekend.  It was nice to see my campers now counselors.  I felt about 1000 years old, but it was a great time.  I got to swim, hang out with some chillins and lay on the dock reading my book! Awesome

NYC- Me, K, Chris, Bean, M-Healy nuf said.  PS Kirsten's new girlfriend in NYC gave me Rabies.

Poconos- Swam in the lake, swam in a river, hiked a waterfall, hilarity (Greg McKenna was there), played nerdy board games, ate too much food, drank too much beer.

Wish you were a lesbian? I'll change that...

What happened in 2004?  I want you to give me a detailed description of everything you did in 2004, I want you to relive every decision you made and give me a good reason why.  I was asked to do this.  This is what happens when you are a lesbian.

I made a pact with Maloy to never go to Sisters again.  I should have stood by that,  but silly me... Maloy was in St. Louis, I was at Woody's an old "friend" was at Sisters.  I'll meet up for a beer I thought.  WRONG!!! Sobfest '08.  Not me, my "friend" who shall remain nameless.  I was blamed for every thing that has gone wrong for this girl for the last 4 years, most of which we were not speaking, hanging out, chatting, seeing each other. PLEASE.  Needless to say, I'm back to the pact.  NO Sisters, don't even ask.

Awkward BBQ's? Of course, what would 4th of July be without one.  6 people, 4 dogs, burgers grilled for 1 hour (not exaggerated), PBR in the bathtub (not exaggerated luckily still in the can), Fireworks, discussion of Pearl Necklaces (yes...that kind), dog bites.  Awful things happen when you are a lesbian.

Bright side? Fun at Ice Cream Festival.  Andrea, Jonah, Bean, Lucien, Chels (not a lesbian), and me $5 all the ice cream we could eat.  Kind of gross because it was 90 degrees, but also sort of delicious.  We helped lick leukemia.  So sometimes it is nice to be a lesbian, but sometimes it is gross.

Airport tally: Twice in 24 hours.

Rehoboth

We went to Rehoboth.  I didn't take pictures.  It was just tooooooo romantic.  Just kidding, I'm still not very good at taking pictures, so sorry.  Went to the beach, read a book, hit the thrift store, drank champagne, ate Nicola Pizza (mmmmmmm), that's pretty much it.  Yard sale this weekend, then moving for Mom.  Ay, ay, ay.

I'm taking up jump roping which put an end to my summer no bra pact.  I hate boobs... my boobs.

It's a 'Burgh thing, you wouldn't understand

At the confluence. Notice that we are not touching.  This was a "no touching" weekend.  I could barely stand it.  Don't worry when we got on the plane I poked Maloy until I thought she might cry.
The Incline
My new pen!

Weekend completed.  I didn't even make Mal's parents hate me anymore than they do now.  Her Dad definitely hates me, but I think I won Mary Lee over when I made my own crust.  I know I'm super talented.  Grandma was thrilled with my crust making abilities as well.  Day 2 I went to the Three Rivers Arts Festival with Mals, Mom, and Sarah.  I don't know if you know this about me, but I'm not very patient, I don't really like looking at Jewelry and all I could really focus on was the fact that Pride was also that weekend and was laughing hysterically at all the gays.  There were plenty of gays to laugh at, if Richard had been there he would have had to mutter "Margit, Margit," about 1,000 times.  Apparently everything at the Arts Festival was either cute or a stitch.  Needless to say, not really my scene, but I pretended.  We went to the confluence/the point where all three rivers come together(the Allegheny and Monogehela combine to make the Ohio).  It was pretty.  After the festival we went out to dinner with Grandma and Mr. Mals.  It was delicious, but the highlight was really two things.  We rode on the Duquesne Incline and Mal's mom bought me a Duquesne Incline pen that has a little incline that when you turn it upside down it moves.  It is in one word...EXCELLENT!

We go to Rehomo tomorrow.  I'm really digging this summer off thing!

Pittsburgh or Bust

Day one in Pittsburgh.  We had some southside action in the morning including a trip to the Salvation Army.  I got a pair of Nikes for 5 bucks, Yes!  Ate a Primanti Bros. sandwich. Visited grandma.  We came home, I whipped up a Strawberry Rhubarb cobbler.  Played city horseshoes.  Which I won.  (Only against Marianne) Grilled out.  Played some family Bocce Ball.  Watched 16 candles and went to bed.

Mind, Body, Soul

As if attending interminable Professional Development wasn't enough, you should definitely throw in Country Line Dancing.  Think I'm kidding?  We had our second to last professional development yesterday and it was one that we got invited to.  Invitations in our mailboxes and everything.  We were to wear comfortable shoes, bring a water bottle, and a copy of our favorite book.  I brought in Encyclopedia of an Ordinary Life (That book is hilarious).  First things first, there are about 50 teachers at my school and we were each given a card with a fruit on it.  We then had to make a fruit basket, so you had to find other people with different cards to make these baskets.  It took like 15 minutes for everyone to figure out how to do this.  It doesn't SOUND that hard, but trust me, it was.  We were now in three groups we would do rotations of Mind, Body, and Soul.  In Mind, we talked about our books and gave each other recommendations.  It was nice.  In body, we had to do some Tai Chi breathing exercises all I could think of was Mom doing "cloudy hands."  Then we went to soul where some nice jewish boy made us a smoothie using a blender powered by a bike.  But it wasn't over.  We had country line dancing lessons.  It was totally bizarre.  I swore if they put on the Cha Cha slide I was quitting.  Sometimes I feel like Chelsea and think, is this my life? No. This couldn't be my life.

Countdown to P-Burgh: Tomorrow.  I guess I'm not very good at countdowns.

Flashpoint Prom

Kirsten asked me why I have to be such a pain in the ass, and I really only have one answer for her.  Its what I do best.  I'm already tied with Mia for number of posts and I've had my blog for 2 days.  OK, that was a side note.

I'm going to post some pictures of my recent night out with Mals.  The first picture is hilarious, especially if you can zoom in on her face.  And in the second one you can see her beautiful penis lipstick, a gag gift Chels got when she went to a bachelorette party earlier this year. The color? Mushroom...

We went out to Flashpoint prom which this year was held at L2 on South Street.  The bar was pretty cool, theater kids are weird, but Mals earned her Flashpoint T-Shirt(that's a long story that a theater nerd would have to tell you).  After the "prom" ended at 11 we headed over to Bob and Barbara's for some much needed specials.  The night was fun, it ended early and no matter how much we tried to convince Chels and Elisabeth to join us they opted for Fume instead.

Countdown to P-burgh: 3 days.

Post for Mia

I just wanted to start a blog to prove that my blog would be better than your blog.  So it is aptly titled.  I will have lots of time on my hands in a couple of days and this way I don't have to call and gloat I can gloat over the computer, and you guys can read it at work.  SUCKERS
